socialmedia

Organic social media is where a brand speaks in its own voice, without buying an audience. It is also the channel where I learn fastest, since I practise it every day on @solennstories.

This page is deliberately short: I will expand it as I cover more of these topics in the journal.

setting the strategy

A social media strategy comes down to four decisions: goals, editorial line, posting cadence and the metrics you track. Without those four, you post without knowing whether it works.

looking around and measuring

Benchmarking is about observing how comparable accounts publish: pace, tone, formats. Not to copy them, but to position your own approach.

On measurement, I look at interaction rate against views rather than raw follower count — it says far more about the real health of an account.

key takeaways

  • Four basic decisions: goals, editorial line, cadence, metrics.
  • Benchmarking positions the account within its sector.
  • Engagement against views matters more than follower count.
