Telling a criminal case in 90 seconds without betraying it

My method for researching, structuring and telling a case in short video: this is the format that built my 28k TikTok following.
The most engaging format on my account
True crime is the most engaging pillar on my account: a 4.17% engagement rate on TikTok, well above my other formats. Not because the subject is spectacular, but because it demands genuine narrative rigour.
Going back to the sources before filming
Before filming, I go back to the sources: court records, local press coverage, public documents. I note what is established, what is alleged and what is only rumour. That distinction stays visible in the video, both spoken and on screen.
A structure that never changes
The structure is always the same: a factual hook, the context in two sentences, the timeline, then the current state of the proceedings. Nothing invented to keep people watching — reality is more than enough.
Words, handled with respect
Finally, I choose my words carefully. There are victims and families behind every case. What I refuse to do: shocking images, an amused tone, or drawing conclusions in place of the courts.
